【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC9314specifiestheStationManagement(SMT)fortheFibreDistributedDataInterface(FDDI).FDDIprovidesahighbandwidth(100megabitspersecond)generalpurposeinterconnectionamongcomputersandperipheralequipmentusingopticalfibreasthetransmissionmediuminaringconfiguration.FDDIcanbeconfiguredtosupportasustainedtransferrateofapproximately80megabits(10megabytes)persecond.TheuseofdualattachmentstationswithdualMACsallowstheseratestobedoubledunderthecircumstanceofafault-freeFDDIring.FDDIestablishestheconnectionamongmanystations(nodes)distributedoverdistancesofseveralkilometresinextent.DefaultvaluesforFDDIwerecalculatedonthebasisof1000physicalconnectionsandatotalfibrepathlengthof200km.TheFDDIconsistsofa)APhysicalLayer(PL),whichprovidesthemedium,connectors,opticalbypassing,anddriver/receiverrequirements.PLalsodefinesencode/decodeandclockrequirementsasrequiredforframingthedatafortransmissiononthemediumortothehigherlayersoftheFDDI.ForthepurposesofthispartofISO/IEC9314,referencestothePLaremadeintermsofthePhysicalLayerprotocol(PHY)andthePhysicalLayerMediaDependent(PMD)entitieswhicharetheupperandlowersublayersofPL,respectively.b)ADataLinkLayer(DLL)whichcontrolstheaccessingofthemediumandthegenerationandverificationofframechecksequencestoassuretheproperdeliveryofvaliddatatothehigherlayers.DLLalsoconcernsitselfwiththegenerationandrecognitionofdeviceaddressesandthepeer-to-peerassociationswithintheFDDInetwork.ForthepurposesofthispartofISO/IEC9314,referencestotheDLLaremadeintermsoftheMediaAccessControl(MAC)entitywhichisthelowestsublayerofDLL.c)AStationManagement(SMT)standard,thispartofISO/IEC9314,whichprovidesthecontrolnecessaryatthestation(node)leveltomanagetheprocessesunderwayinthevariousFDDIlayerssuchthatastationmayworkcooperativelyasapartofanFDDInetwork.SMTshallprovideservicessuchasconnectionmanagement,stationinsertionandremoval,stationinitialization,configurationmanagement,faultisolationandrecovery,communicationsprotocolforexternalauthority,schedulingpolicies,andcollectionofstatistics.ThedefinitionofSMTascontainedhereinincludesthesetofservicesthatitprovidesfor,andreceivesfrom,theotherentitiesthatarecontainedwithinanode.WithinSMTresidesbothknowledgeoftheuniquenessofthisnodeandthecurrentnetworkstructuretotheextentthatthisnode'sfunctionisaffected.ThesetofInternationalStandardsforFDDI,ISO/IEC9314,specifiestheinterfaces,functionsandoperationsnecessarytoinsureinteroperabilitybetweenconformingFDDIimplementations.ThispartofISO/IEC9314isafunctionaldescription.Conformingimplementationsmayemployanydesigntechniquewhichdoesnotviolateinteroperability.
